Cottrell’s Sugar Shack Cabin is located just 10 miles by road from downtown Petersburg, Alaska. Our private waterfront Alaskan cabin (we call it our guest house) is located along Wrangell Narrows which is the main passage for commercial fishing boats, the Alaska ferry, barges, and Alaska cruise ships navigating to Petersburg.

The Sugar Shack is a great place to take that 2nd Honeymoon or celebrate a special anniversary.

Watch the ebb and flow of the tide while relaxing in our comfortable recliner.  Enjoy watching eagles and shore birds as well as deer that frequently visit the yard.

Cottrell’s Sugar Shack is a small home with a living room, a well equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and the other has a shower. There is an outdoor grill, a washer and dryer, and telephone for local/credit card calls, providing an ideal Alaskan experience for one or two couples. Since we don’t have a television at the cabin, you will find evening or early morning walks an enjoyable diversion from everyday routines.

Transportation from the Petersburg airport or Alaska ferry terminal to your rental car pick-up. For exploring you can rent a boat from Doyle Boat Rentals.
