Petersburg Alaska - In the heart of Alaska’s Inside Passage.
This Alaskan Property has been Sold by Owner.
Our remote Alaskan waterfront cabin, we affectionately named Fita – Willow Creek, is located on almost 3 acres of timbered property, including 200’ of waterfront beach. The main building, a Pan-A-Bode cedar log cabin, sleeps five comfortably with plenty of space for extra guests. Access to our beachfront property is just a short 20-mile excursion by boat from the quaint fishing village of Petersburg (see map below), along the protected waters of Wrangell Narrows, through Beechers Pass to lower Duncan Canal. Petersburg, Alaska is just a couple hours from Seattle by jet service provided twice daily by Alaska Airlines. Alaska Airlines also serves most major west coast cities.
Our cabin location on Duncan Canal, an inlet 30 miles long and 2 miles wide on the southern coast of Kupreanof Island, is the perfect Alaska area for fishing, hunting, kayaking, beachcombing, photography, birding, berry picking or just enjoying the surrounding wilderness. Day excursions from nearby Petersburg offer glaciers and whale watching.
Centrally located in the heart of southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage, migrating silver, pink, sockeye and chum salmon pass close by on their return to nearby streams. Wrangell Narrows offers world-class king salmon fishing. Just a short boat ride to the waters of Sumner Strait, you can experience halibut, cod, and red snapper fishing. Our resident wildlife population includes deer, moose, eagles, mink, black bear, otter, grouse, ducks, geese, and the elusive Alexander Archipelago wolf. Annual spring and fall waterfowl migrations fill the air with sounds of geese, swans and sandhill cranes that utilize Duncan Canal as a historic flyway. Duncan Canal also regionally recognized for providing a bounty of shrimp and crab to both commercial and sport fishing groups.
The main cabin is equipped with a refrigerator, heater, range, hot water heater, and lights, all operated with propane. A separate bath-house building is also heated. A 110 volt generator powers the TV, VCR, microwave, vacuum, lights, and tools. Spacious decks offer plenty of room to relax and enjoy a feast of fresh caught seafood.
A haul-out pulley system for anchoring your boat out from the beach is convenient and allows you to access the property on any tide.
Our convenient location and access in a wilderness setting will make owning a cabin in Alaska easy and affordable. We encourage you to contact us for more information about our Fita-Willow Creek Cabin. A unique Alaskan cabin property in a unique Alaskan location.
